What You Practice, You Become

30 Days Of Identity Reps: Day 14 Listen to these before your trading day, the night before (or both) and check out the Identity Training Exercise at the end!!

Every click is a cue.
Every habit is a vote.
Every trade is a rep..
And what you practice? You become.

Most traders think they’re “just scalping” or “just watching the market” or “just taking one small play.”.. But what they’re actually doing is practicing impulsiveness, practicing hesitation, practicing chasing… Practicing Failure.
And that practice? Becomes their identity.

There’s a trader named Ravi.
He didn’t realize it at first, but every morning he’d open his platform, scroll the top gainers, enter early with no plan, hope for the best, then journal: “I need to be more disciplined.”
But by the next day? Same loop.
Because Ravi wasn’t just making bad trades..
He was rehearsing bad behavior.

The brain doesn’t care about what you meant to do.
It only knows what you repeatedly do.
So when you keep practicing reactivity, your brain wires it as the default.
And eventually… it becomes who you are on the charts.

Let’s flip it.
Let’s say you wake up, breathe before the bell, check your levels, skip a mediocre setup, and take one clean A+ trade.
Even if it’s breakeven..
That’s a rep.
That’s wiring.
That’s casting a vote for the trader you’re becoming.

You don’t need to be perfect.
You need to be intentional.

Ravi eventually realized—
He wasn’t lacking knowledge.
He was lacking mindful reps.
So he shifted his focus.
From P/L → to practice.
From outcome → to input.

He started asking one question after every session:
“What identity did I reinforce today?”
And that changed everything.

Identity Training Day 14

Here’s your drill for today:
Before you trade, write this down:
“What kind of trader do I want to practice being today?”
Example:
• A calm trader
• A patient sniper
• A rule-follower
• A reset-heavy decision maker

Then at the end of the day, write:
“What behaviors did I rehearse today?”
If they didn’t match your intention? That’s okay.
You just spotted the disconnect.
That’s awareness.
And awareness is the start of change.

Because who you become…
Isn’t decided by your P/L.
It’s decided by what you practice.

Every trade is a rep.
So make your next one count.
Reps. Reset. Repeat.
