You Don’t Have A Strategy Problem (You Have A Nervous System Problem)

30 Days Of Identity Reps: Day 11 Listen to these before your trading day, the night before (or both) and check out the Identity Training Exercise at the end!!

If you’ve watched the videos…
If you’ve learned the setups…
If you know the rules…

But still break them in real time?
You don’t have a strategy issue.
You have a nervous system issue.

You don’t rise or fall to the level of your plan.
You rise or fall to the level of your regulation.

Let me introduce you to a trader named Luis.
Luis could chart with the best of them.
His levels were clean. His entries were sharp.
He even journaled every day.

But here’s the thing…
The second he went into the market live—his heart would pound.
His breathing would shorten.
His vision would tunnel.
And every time a candle went red?
He’d freeze. Or overreact. Or close too early.

He knew his system worked.
But his nervous system didn’t trust it.
Because it wasn’t trained.

And that’s the hidden force behind most inconsistency.
It’s not a lack of knowledge.
It’s a dysregulated body trying to make clear decisions in a threat state.

And when your nervous system is jacked with cortisol and fear?
You’ll chase. You’ll panic. You’ll spiral.
Not because you don’t know better—
But because your brain has been hijacked by survival mode.

This is what nobody talks about in trading.
Everyone’s focused on setups.
But they forget…
The most important chart is the one inside your body.

Just like a baseball player who can hit homers in practice, and make contact every single pitch in the batting cage but when it’s game time and there’s a crowd cheering or booing he freezes up and strikes out every time..

Being able to hit homers in practice and in the batting cage is great, but if you can’t do it in a game you won’t get that Major League Baseball contract money. You’ll be sitting in the bleachers. The same goes for trading. A trader can be able to make all the right plays paper trading or in replay mode, but if they can’t regulate their emotions during the live market with their actual money, then not only will they not make money, they’ll lose it.

Luis finally realized:
He didn’t need more indicators.
He needed more nervous system reps.

So he started small:
→ 2 minutes of box breathing before market open.
→ Journaling what sensations showed up after each trade.
→ Taking one cold shower a week to train emotional recovery and stability.
→ Doing one “reset routine” anytime he felt himself getting flooded.

Over time? His body stopped reacting like every red candle was a lion chasing him.
He didn’t feel the need to force wins.
He didn’t panic when a trade took heat.
And the craziest part?
He actually started following his plan.

Not because he had more motivation or time—
But because his nervous system was finally aligned with his mindset.

Identity Training Day 11

So here’s your nervous system training rep today:
Right now, write this down:
“What does my body usually do when I’m stressed in a trade?”
(Heart races? Jaw clenches? Hands tighten?)

Then pick one calming tool to use today:
Could be Box Breathing.
Could be a 60-second pause with your feet on the ground.
Could be stepping away from the screen for 2 minutes and naming what you feel.

Because the edge isn’t just in the plan.
It’s in your ability to execute it without emotions taking over.

Let’s stop pretending we’re just minds trading charts.
We’re nervous systems trading chaos.
And when you learn to regulate yours?
You unlock consistency others will never touch.

Let’s build that.
Reps. Reset. Repeat.
